how surreal. well, by the time we landed in rome, it was about 9am there. 6 hour time difference from new york. it was the beginning of the day and not a lot of people had slept on the plane. we went to the baggage claim and got our luggage. i don't think it hit ANYONE that we were in italy. oh man. well, the first thing we did was meet our delagation manager, johannes. he would be with us for the entire trip. anyway, we went out to our coach bus, which would pretty much be our home for the next 19 days. we put all our luggage under the bus and started driving. introductary stuff and whatnot. we drove for a little while and then we walked to the coliseum. surreal, seriously. it was hugeeee. we walked around inside and stuff and a tour guide showed us around. we also went to the roman forum and saw lots of monuments. rome is beautiful, i took so many pictures ahahah. we basically walked around all day and it was so hot. holy shit. everyone was kind of in a bad mood because of that and jetlag. by the time we got to dinner, we'd all been awake for 30 hours straight. br00tal shet. after dinner, we went to our first hotel and were assigned roomates. i was with christine and jasmine. the hotel was shit but they were a lot of fun to talk to at night. we relaxed and stayed up pretty late, oh the shows that random italian hotels show. ahahaha it was a funny night even though it wasn't the greatest day. xo.
